An online survey of more than 300 Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA) member agents in the summer revealed Asia, Australia and New Zealand as showing new or increased consumer interest and demand for 2013. According to agents, the elements of cruising generating the most excitement include new itineraries, destinations and smaller ships. They also cite emerging trends as off-the-beaten-track programs, increased interest in cultural activities and a higher spend on vacations — all good news for the adventurous end of the cruise market.
